Adam Tomlinson is a British production designer working in film and television. He’s developed a strong reputation in the art department with more than 25 years experience, progressing through roles from art department runner to production designer. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University, he gained experience across all disciplines of the art department before establishing himself as a lead designer.

Working with many designers over his career, Adam has developed skills from the old school and the new, creating worlds from a wide range of periods, working with all departments, managing budgets, bringing skilled teams together to achieve the vision required to suit any script.

Adam is best known most recently for his work as production designer on Adolescence (2025), a critically acclaimed British drama on Netflix. The series is distinguished by its one-take filming technique — a continuous shot format that presents unique production design challenges.
